El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity

El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity challenges the community to help us in our mission to provide affordable housing in partnership with low-income families. If it were not for the support from corporate sponsorship and the faith community, as well as local government, civic groups, schools, foundations, and individuals, El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity could not succeed.

    We Thank You!

Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has built more that 225,000 houses, providing shelter for more that 1 million people in nearly 90 countries around the world.

A new Habitat house is completed somewhere in the world every 21 minutes.

Owning a home seems out of reach for many Americans. El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity has purchased a lot for a project in Cameron Park, due to break ground early summer of 2010.  El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity is also in the process of purchasing approximately 5 acres in the town of El Dorado with the hope to build 20 affordable homes in partnership with future homeowners. Habitat helps by offering a no-interest loan to families who have completed a minimum of 500 hours of sweat equity on their own home or other homes.

El Dorado County Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, non-denominational faith based housing organization. Habitat welcomes all people to participate in building simple, decent, affordable homes for those who lack adequate shelter.
